Shaka Shade is made from a super lightweight parachute material that requires the smallest amount of breeze to fly (approximately 4-5km per hour). The floating canopy creates a large surface area of shade (up to 12 SQ M) keeping you protected from the sun at any wind level.

The versatility of Shaka Shade allows it to transform into a more traditional beach tent by simply adding the second frame and attaching the additional tools provided for a continued sheltered day at the beach. The ‘Calm Day’ Setup, however, is intended as a ‘fail-safe’ option as it’s very rare that there is no breeze at all at the beach!

Yes! Shaka Shade has been specially designed for a super simple and fast set up. For a single person, it takes approximately 3-4 minutes to set up in windy conditions, and about 4-5 minutes in calm conditions.
If you can find a good friend to help you, however, it only takes two (2) minutes for two people to set up!

At the right time of day, Shaka Shade is able to provide approximately 12sqm of shade. However, depending on the time of day and where the sun sits in the sky, the amount of shade provided will vary.

Shaka Shade weighs only 3.5kg. Being half the weight of some of its competitors, Shaka Shade makes for an easy trip to the beach.

Shaka Shade offers a UPF rating of 30+.
Why not UPF 50+ we hear you say? Great question! In order to offer the best user experience, it was important for us to create a shade that provided excellent sun protection, without being too thick and rigid, (which could make the shade unbearably loud in high wind, as well as too heavy to float). Luckily, we’ve sourced a material that provides a great balance between sound and sun protection, with UPF 30+.

Shaka Shade is made from an incredibly lightweight parachute material that easily floats in the smallest amount of breeze, meaning it’s also surprisingly quiet, and allows you to sit back, relax and take in the natural sounds of the ocean.

Great question! Generally, the wind direction is fairly consistent, however, if it’s keeping you on your toes, it’s super easy to adjust the shade’s positioning. Simply shift the poles until it captures the wind blowing through the shade. A two second job!

Please allow anywhere from 1-5 days for orders to shipping within Australia.
We send our orders from our warehouse in Melbourne, VIC and use AusPost Regular service. We dispatch orders same day if ordered before 12pm. So, the delivery time will depend on where you live, but for orders within Australia, please allow anywhere from 1 to 5 days to arrive.

Yes, we do! We have an option for Express Shipping when you checkout for an extra $15. Otherwise, standard shipping time will be applied at no extra charge.

We are an Australian company and ship anywhere that is covered by Australia Post within Australia. We are also currently shipping internationally to New Zealand.
Please note, however, there are some caveats for our NZ friends.
- At checkout, the product payment will be in AUD.
- International customers will be responsible for all duties and taxes payable upon import.
- Product return shipping will be at the expense of the customer.

It's important to us that you love your Shaka Shade as much as we do, so if you're not happy for any reason, we offer 60-day returns from the date of delivery.
The only thing we ask is that your product is in a new and (almost) un-used condition (we totally get you might want to try it out before deciding if you want to return or not).

While our Shades are designed to be super strong and durable, there are some cases where they might have a manufacturing fault.
What is covered by the Shaka Shade warranty?
All Shaka Shade products purchased from our official online store or authorised retailers are covered by a six month warranty against manufacturing faults.
What should I do if I receive a faulty item or my Shaka Shade develops a fault?
Please contact our customer service team with the following information:
- Your order number and email address.
- A photograph of the fault.
- Description of the fault.
Can I get a replacement if my Shade is faulty and within the warranty period?
Yes, if your Shaka Shade is within the warranty period and terms, we'll offer you a replacement.
What is not covered by the Shaka Shade warranty?
Our warranty does not cover external damage to the product such as accidents, negligence, improper use, or normal wear and tear.
Do I need to return my faulty Shaka Shade to process the warranty claim?
Yes, please do not throw away your faulty product as you'll need to return it to us to process the warranty claim. You'll also be required to submit photographs.
How do I lodge a warranty claim?

- We will then initiate a warranty return for your order.
Can Shaka Shade reject a warranty claim?
Yes, we reserve the right to reject any warranty claims that we believe have not occurred due to fair/normal use or in instances outside of the above terms and conditions.
Does the Shaka Shade returns and warranty policy comply with AUS Consumer Law?
Yes, our returns and warranty policy includes the rights you are entitled to under Australian Consumer Law.
